Unit 7 · My day, my week
ma...sh: I don't
Capitals mark the emphatic letters, 3 is ع and 7 is ح, and ' is the glottal stop that Cairo uses for q.
Verbs are negated by wrapping them: ma- in front, -sh at the end. baroo7 (I go) becomes mabaroo7sh (I don't go). beyaakol becomes mabeyakolsh (he doesn't eat). It comes out as one long word, and the ma- is short. So there are two ways to say "not": ma...sh around a verb, mish in front of everything else.
